The short answer is yes, but remember it’s materially and not operationally.
When you route the payments through Authorize.net instead of Jobber’s native processing capability, you will lose multiple core revenue-impacting features that Jobber is actually designed for. It is designed to monetize and optimise such activities. Users may report that quotes and deposits cannot be collected properly, which alone breaks the sale-to-cash workflow.
On top of that, another factor is that card-not-present functionality is either limited or unavailable. It simply means that remote payments, phone payments, and flexible billing scenarios will take a hit. When we talk about operational factors, then you must know that the gaps will widen further.
Features like photo uploads, tied to jobs, dispatch assignments, and end-to-end payment automation may not function as intended or at all when Authorize.net is used as a payment gateway. The result will be fragmentation. Staff may have to jump between systems, customers may face friction, and the collection activity may slow down.
Multiple facebook users that have tested this setup confirm that the trade-off wasn’t worth it. And some were even stating flatly that you can’t do it if you want full Jobber capability. There are definitely workarounds, for example, third-party tools like Biller Genie, but those introduce additional complexities, extra cost, and more points of failure, which will eventually defeat the purpose of using Jobber as an all-in-one platform in the first place.
Think it like this, if your goal is maximum functionality, clean workflow, faster deposits, and fewer support headaches, then Jobber’s native merchant processing should be your choice. Using Authorize.net may look sometimes flexible on paper, but in practice, it will strip critical features and will also slow down the revenue operation, which is something that most businesses will not be interested in making.
We are not saying that Authorize.Net is not perfect for you. It is perfect as a gateway and also they give you good merchant processing solution, but you have chosen Jobber for a specific purpose, and Jobber itself comes with phenomenal features.
